Welec introduces a new serie of digital real-time storage oscilloscopes W2000A realized in a flat benchtop housing visualizing the measured signals on a large full VGA (640 x 480 dots) TFT color LC-Display. It claims to present the world thinnest oscilloscope at nearly 92mm depth and results in a lightweight of under 3kg.

None of Welec's competitors have ever been able to realize such an attractive low-cost price range in this field. Welec develops its own designed high-speed ASICs to reduce the manufacturing costs dramatically to be able to offer a high-tech oscilloscope realized on latest technology standards for less than €600 to the end customer. The design features PC applications with an USB interface.

Manufacturing and Distribution

Manufacturing and distribution have been out-sourced and transferred to the appropriate partners. This provides the company with flexibility in cost structure and the ability to intensively develop the domain in research and development.

Manufacturing, finishing and logistics are out-sourced to service custom manufacturer in electronics. On the basis of manufacturing and distribution outsourcing, enables Welec to manage with a minimum overhead. Using this structure of organization, Welec can operate with an advanced standard of management.

Innovations and New Product Introduction W2000A

Welec will attract the end user with lowest price at highest performace ratio and gradually supply different low-cost solutions within the next coming years.

A new digital oscilloscope series W2000A has been successfully developed within the
past three years and is currently in mass production, to become available August 2007.
This new series features 1GSa/s real-time sampling rate per channel and a large
6.5" full VGA (640 x 480 dots) color TFT LCD. Its memory depth is 16k points per channel and a two and four channel version and 100MHz and 200MHz model becomes
available starting from €995 + Tax and S/H costs. Please visit our distributor site for

The end user of this new introduction shall be informed that the W2000A series oscilloscope have a true real-time sampling rate of 1GSa/s per channel. Confusion about the feature sampling rate is wide spreat in this field. Many oscilloscope manufacturers claim having 1GSa/s sampling oscilloscopes, however, if you read the small printing in their data sheet (often it is even not defined at all) you will learn that in many cases, two channels of 500MSa/s are interleaved to obtain 1GSa/s on one single channel. Also fantasy sampling rates (repetitive sampling rates) up to 50GSa/s are often introduced as key feature to confuse the end user.
